Texas
I would describe the Guadalupe as a variant of the Large-mouth Bass. It is the Texas state fish, even though it only lives in waters located within a hundred miles of Austin.
Allen, a guide who specializes in fishing for this species took me fishing on Lake Travis, an extremely clear man-made lake. I don’t think the fishing was as good as Allen wanted it to be, but we caught many fish and we caught the targeted species and I was happy. Allen told me a couple of good stories too. Like the time he had a pontoon boat with Japanese clients. They were sitting in lawn chairs and Allen saw a wake coming from another boat. Before he could say anything it hit, knocking a couple of the guys out of their chairs and one into the water.
